Chiropractor

Decypher is seeking Chiropractor candidates to support the DoD contract at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will possess the required education, skills, and experience called for in the contract as described below. US Citizenship and active NACI clearance required.

Responsibilities

· The Chiropractor will be required to split work locations (NAB Coronado Pain Medicine 60%, NAB Coronado Physical/Occupational Therapy 40%)

· Perform a full range of clinical diagnosis and chiropractic treatment for commonly occurring neuro-musculoskeletal conditions including subluxation complex.

· Conduct a patent history and chiropractic physical examination as clinically indicated.

· Use the modalities of heat, cold, light, electricity, sound, and exercises in patient treatment area.

· Provide patient instructions and recommendations in all matters pertaining to hygiene, nutrition, exercise, lifestyle changes and ergonomic factors in the activities of daily living.

· Plan and conduct lectures and training programs on chiropractic related subjects for staff, students, and patients.

· Order orthotics, lifts, collars, and lumbar sacral supports.

· Place active-duty patients on limited duty status (profile) according to MTF policy.

· Perform standard osseous and soft tissue procedures only, as commonly taught in Chiropractic College accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education.

· Employ and record every measure of observation that will more substantially profile the patient during the initial patient interview and consultation.

· Utilize radiography and standard laboratory tests appropriate to the chiropractic diagnosis and within the MTF's capabilities as detailed by the standard MTF operating procedures.

· Radiological examinations shall be limited to musculoskeletal radiographs, skull series, chest (PA and lateral views), and rib series. Magnetic Resonance Pmaging (MRP) and Computed Tomography (CT) studies of the spine and Bone Scans may be ordered following protocols established by the Department of Orthopedics.

· Laboratory tests shall be limited to Chemistry Panel (CHEM-7), Urinalysis (UA), Urine Culture & Sensitivity (C&S), Occult Blood, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) and Complete Blood Count (CBC).

· Utilize modalities of heat, cold, light, electricity, and sound in patient treatment area.

· Provide patient instructions and recommendations in all matters pertaining to hygiene, nutrition, exercise and lifestyle changes, and ergonomic factors in the activities of daily living.

· Orient, instruct, technically direct, and provide input when requested on work activities of clinical support staff.

· Shall teach, conduct, or participate in seminars concerning the basic and/or clinical sciences of chiropractic if requested by the Government.

Minimum Qualifications

· Degree: Doctor of Chiropractic.

· Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education.

· Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.

· Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Additional Qualifications:

· Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Chiropractor within the preceding 3 years in a facility of similar size and complexity. Notwithstanding the aforementioned experience requirements, the HCW must have pertinent clinical experience within the past 2 years sufficient to demonstrate current clinical competency for the setting and procedures required by this contract.

· Have experience as a chiropractor, licensed independent practitioner, of at least 24 consecutive months within the last 36 months in which the chiropractor has consistently administered both diagnostic and treatment services.
