DESCRIPTION

Decypher is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to support Lackland AFB, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct an initial assessment of a student’s injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care, and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis and treatment
  • Care for student injuries using physical therapy equipment, techniques, and
    medication
  • Evaluate student's readiness to return to training and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted
  • Apply protective or injury preventive devices such as tape, bandages, or braces to body parts such as ankles, fingers, or wrists
  • Collaborate with physicians in order to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for student injuries
  • Advise athletes on the proper use of equipment
  • Plan and implement comprehensive student injury and illness prevention programs
  • Supervise and conduct physical training programs with consideration to individual injuries
  • Develop training programs and routines designed to improve student performance
  • Provide care to student for medical issues on a daily basis and coordinate with appropriate military personnel along with the Paramedic, Coaches, Program Manager, and other contractor personnel as determined necessary for the situation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Texas State Athletic Trainer License (Must obtain within 4 months of employment)
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (NATABOC or NATA)
  • Basic Life Saver Certification (BLS)
  • 2 years of experience with a collegiate or higher
  • US Citizen
  • NACI background check

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified in one of the following or willing to obtain: (CPT - NSCA or NASM, EXOS, PES, or HFS)
  • Certified in all of the following or willing to obtain: (FMS, GT or IASTM, Kinesio Taping, ASTYM, and CPR)
