DESCRIPTION
Decypher is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support the contract at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Interviews patients to obtain a clear, concise health history.
Performs physical exams and assessments; orders appropriate studies.
Provides accurate medical diagnosis.
Counsels regarding health maintenance and prevention.
Knowledge of medications and medication management practices.
Analyzes and interprets history, including presenting symptoms, physical findings and diagnostic information develop differential diagnosis.
Demonstrates critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills in clinical decision making.
Maintains appropriate documentation to support treatment intervention implemented.
Ensures patient safety IAW regulatory agencies.
Engages in self-evaluation concerning practice and uses evaluative information including peer review, to improve care and practice.
Accrues required continuing education to maintain mandatory licensure/certification.
Promotes interdisciplinary communication and collaboration within and between departments.
Collaborates with peers, subordinates and superiors to improve patient care/organizational performance.
Demonstrates sensitivity to diversity among patients/staff. Recognizes impact on health values/beliefs.
Provide gynecological/obstetrical healthcare needs of women to include: health history, immunization status, and physical exams to evaluate health status and acute and/or chronic medical problems; order/interpret screenings and lab tests, common diagnostic procedures and establish management/treatment plans.
Includes but not limited to:
- Antenatal Care
- Postpartum Care
- Contraceptive Management IAW formulary (Counsel/Prescribe)
- Evaluate/Manage abnormal uterine bleeding
- Menorrhagia
- Cervicitis
- Post-coital bleeding
- Amenorrhea
- Post-menopausal bleeding
- Obtain cervical/vaginal cytology specimens and cultures as indicated
- Order/Perform/Interpret STI testing
- Treat STIs IAW CDC recommendations
- Treat condyloma
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree/Education: Master's degree or DNP degree as WHNP is required. Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Advanced Life Support (ALS; through American Red Cross) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS; through American Heart Association).
Board Certification (5.2.6.4.4): Certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner by the National Certification Corporation.
Experience: Have at least 24 months of experience as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner within the last 36 months in the United States. Colposcopy experience desired.
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner.
