Job Summary: Experienced Registered Nurse serving in a dual role as Forensic Healthcare Program Manager/SANE and Emergency Room Nurse, providing trauma-informed forensic examinations while overseeing 24/7 program operations, compliance, training, quality assurance, and interdisciplinary coordination in alignment with DoD/DHA standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Forensic Healthcare Program Manager (50%):
Serves as the Forensic Healthcare Program Manager and Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examiner for the Military Treatment Facility, providing trauma-informed forensic examinations for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients reporting sexual assault, abuse, interpersonal violence, strangulation, or other physical trauma, including suspect examinations as required by DoD/DHA policy.
Oversees full program operations, ensuring 24/7 forensic response capability; manages staffing and call schedules; maintains training, competency, and certification records; enforces compliance with DoD/DHA policies; and ensures proper documentation, evidence handling, chain-of-custody, and reporting standards.
Conducts comprehensive forensic medical examinations, including history collection, injury assessment, evidence collection and preservation, photographic documentation, completion of DD Form 2911, and preparation of legally sufficient medical records. Participates in on-call rotation and provides objective testimony when required.
Leads quality assurance, case audits, evidence reviews, compliance monitoring, and process improvement initiatives. Prepares reports, metrics, and inspection materials for leadership and higher headquarters, ensuring program readiness and regulatory compliance.
Coordinates interdisciplinary collaboration with SAPR, MCIOs, JAG, Security Forces, Behavioral Health, Emergency Medicine, civilian hospitals, and advocacy agencies to ensure continuity of care, proper evidence transfer, and adherence to medico-legal standards.
Manages case tracking, data collection, reporting requirements, follow-up care coordination, evidence logs, and retention records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with federal and DHA regulations.
Directs training, onboarding, competency validation, simulation exercises, and continuing education for forensic examiners and interdisciplinary partners; develops and updates SOPs and program materials to align with current forensic healthcare standards.
Serves as a clinical and program consultant for installation-level response teams and committees; supports MOUs/MOAs with civilian partners; participates in inspections, readiness exercises, outreach, and other duties as assigned in support of the MTF mission.
Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (50%):
Provides comprehensive emergency nursing care to emergent, urgent, and non-urgent patients across the lifespan, performing triage, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a diverse patient population.
Administers medications safely with knowledge of pharmacologic effects and complications; performs accurate documentation in electronic medical records; and ensures compliance with standards of care, ethical practice, and regulatory guidelines.
Recognizes and responds to medical and trauma emergencies, initiates CPR, assists with advanced cardiac life support, and operates specialized emergency equipment including IV pumps, cardiac monitors, EKG units, oxygen delivery systems, and other unit-specific devices.
Delegates tasks appropriately, supervises ancillary personnel, may serve as charge nurse when assigned, and contributes to staff orientation, cross-training, committees, process improvement, medical readiness, and customer service initiatives.
Maintains a safe clinical environment through adherence to infection control policies, equipment maintenance, preventive cleaning procedures, and occupational health requirements; demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills and works productively with minimal supervision.
Work Environment & Schedule: Sunday - Saturday, not to exceed 40-hour workweek. No on call, some overage hours.
Physical requirements: May be required to lift 20-25 lbs independently and heavier weights with assistance or mechanical devices. Position requires long periods of standing.
Compensation & Benefits: Up to $ 64.26 per hour + H&W.
